Care
Caring for a cashmere coat requires special attention to preserve its beauty and quality. Here are some basic recommendations:
- Regular airing: After each wear, let the coat air out. Hang it on a hanger in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight as much as possible.
- Cleaning: Use a soft brush for clothes or a special roller to remove dust and lint. For more thorough cleaning, contact a professional dry cleaner.
- Stains: Remove stains immediately using a damp cloth and mild detergent. Never rub, but gently wet the stain.
- Storage: Store the coat on a wide hanger to keep its shape. Use a garment cover to protect your coat from dust. Do not store cashmere in plastic bags as they are airtight.
- Moth Avoidance: To avoid moth damage, use natural repellants such as lavender or cedar chips. Check the coat regularly for signs of moths.
- Ironing: If necessary, iron the coat at a low temperature through the fabric or use a steam iron at a safe distance to avoid damaging the fabric.
- Avoiding excessive wear: Try not to wear a coat every day. Give it a rest between wears to allow the fibers to regenerate.
